What is a PCR array?

A PCR array (also called a qPCR array) is a plate of real time PCR primer sets, each well amplifying a specific cDNA, chosen to represent a pathway, a disease process or a group of biomarkers. In one run on a 96- or 384-well real time PCR instrument you measure the expression of dozens to hundreds of genes at once, then normalize to housekeeping genes or to "all gene" expression. It is a simple and powerful way to see how a whole pathway responds to a treatment, a knockout or a disease state.

How our PCR arrays work

Instead of selling single-use plates, we supply a library of targeted real time PCR primer sets. A standard 96-well library contains 88 pathway-specific primer sets plus 8 housekeeping gene primer sets, at 10 uM. You set up your own arrays by combining the primers with your cDNA template and a SYBR green master mix. That gives you the flexibility to design your own experiments: choose the number of samples, replicates and plate layouts that fit your study.
