SYBR Green qPCR primers for detecting rat Dio3 (iodothyronine deiodinase 3, also called DIOIII) gene expression by real-time PCR.
Rat Dio3 qPCR Primer Set – iodothyronine deiodinase 3
Also known as: 5DIII, DIOIII
About this gene: This is an intronless, imprinted gene that is preferentially expressed from the paternal allele. The Dio3 protein belongs to the iodothyronine deiodinase family, and catalyzes the inactivation of thyroid hormone by inner ring deiodination of the prohormone thyroxine and the bioactive hormone 3,3',5-triiodothyronine to inactive metabolites, 3,3',5' triiodothyronine and 3,3'-diiodothyronine, respectively. The Dio3 gene product is highly expressed in placenta, fetal and neonatal tissues, and thought to prevent premature exposure of developing fetal tissues to adult levels of thyroid hormones.
Gene details: NCBI Gene ID: 29475; UniProt: P49897; Chromosome location: 6q32
What you get: Primers are provided as a 40 µl solution containing both primers at a final concentration of 50 µM in 10 mM Tris-HCl (pH 7.5), 0.1 mM EDTA. Dilute with H2O as needed prior to use. This amount is sufficient for 1,000 PCR reactions of 20 µl, assuming a final primer concentration of 0.1 µM.
